The rule

Repositioning upward changes who you sell to. It does not change who finds you. The old promise is what still fills the top of the funnel, so take it off the homepage and the new promise ends up talking to an empty room about two quarters later.

The copy, then and now

Hard to call

Then · June 2024

Great software starts on the command line

Warp is the terminal reimagined with AI and collaborative tools for better productivity.

Now · 4 September 2026

Open infrastructure for cloud software factories

Build on Warp: factories as code, any model or harness, with evals, benchmarks, and self-improvement built in.

Why it matters

Moving up changes who you sell to. It does not change who finds you. The proof is sitting on the page: the main button asks for early access to the factory, and right beside it, still there, is download warp terminal. The old promise is what fills the funnel and they know it. The open question is the phrase cloud software factories, which is a term the buyer has to be taught, and teaching one takes about three years. Worth checking again in 2027.
